Alright.

This is going to sound like a really strange question, since it's only the beginning of November, but I need to ask anyway.

Did anyone else's pipes freeze last night?

I went to run some water at the shop, and all of a sudden there was this weird grinding noise. When I looked under the sink, the pipes were freezing cold. I know that there's been a few problems with the plumbing, but I just wanted to double check.

Can't say that mine did.

Huh.

Thanks.

Hopefully you'll find out what happened. Frozen pipes are never fun.

It's been ridiculously hot in my apartment lately. I can't imagine anything freezing in there.

Yeah, I don't know what happened. We turn off the heat when we close up, but it still doesn’t make sense.

Lots of things don't make sense. And a word to the wise, avoid the boy below me. My employer says he's bad news.

Becky Jordan.

That's very true.

Yeah, so I've heard. I guess I'm the kind of person who makes decisions based off of experience, not just off of what people have told me.

I'm not quite sure if that was an introduction, or just a signature...but either way, I'm Christian Oriel.

Introduction. I'm not much for formal things.

Well. Make your mistakes on your own time, just make sure no one else suffers for them. I'm not sure what Dylan is capable of, because I've only heard, but he's delusional. And if he says he can fly, he's chock full of bullshit.

Yeah, I'm getting that.

Thank you. I'll be sure to remember that.

You're not from around here, are you?

Your name didn't sound familiar.

And you speak as if you know more about the people of this town than other people do. You mention how you've heard things, and how people have told you things. That's usually a sign that you either haven't been around long enough to experience things for yourself, or you just aren't familiar with a person. In this case, the person is Dylan.

I'm sorry if that came off as sounding rude, it was just an observation.

I work for a very powerful man. I've heard alot of things. Most things, I honestly don't want to know. All things, I can't talk about. Only warn. So, be thankful.

And who says I don't experience things? I set my house on fire. Not purposely, granted, but there's an experience for you. And...I've had experiences in...let's call it a past life. That shit lives with me forever.

No worries. We're all rude at some point. In my case, I come off rude almost always because I'm what some people refer to as a 'bitch'. Basically, I just don't take anyone's shit and I'm power hungry. It's called ambition and drive and most of the people in this God forsaken town have never heard of either one.

I've never seen so many people so proud about having the shittiest jobs. This one man I conversed with was happy he was a teacher. Can you imagine!

Ah. I see.

Yeah. Past experiences, or...lives, always do stick with a person. People just tend to dwell on them too much, instead of moving forward.

I guess it's all about perspective, right?

They may be 'shitty' to you, but other people may enjoy teaching people new things, and expanding their horizons. I'm sure the man you work for went to school for many years to get to where he is now...and teachers probably played a big part in his education.

Like I said, it's really all about perspective.

You noticed the water was frozen after you touched the pipe?

I just went to turn on the faucet, but I guess the water must have froze in the pipes last night.
